Interlude

A pause. Something trickling in, filtering through the haze. She could sense the voice calling her, though she couldn’t hear it yet. There was something else she sensed, she recognized, but couldn’t name. And there also was that niggling feeling, akin to the one you get when you leave something half-done. Unfinished business. Yes, that was it. She had something to do. She couldn’t go, not yet. There were things to be done, loose ends to be tied up satisfactorily. It was time to move on, leave the comfortable place she was in. It was hard …

A soft strain of Beethoven’s Fur Elise floated in the air, dispensed relentlessly by the PA system.

There was a renewed burst of animation, inside the room and out. Patches of words came through ‘ yes, she’s conscious ‘   ’ doctor first ‘   ‘ aside please ‘   ‘ do you feel’ followed by other sounds, garbled sobs, prayers. And eventually, there was relief  ‘ look, she’s smiling ‘.

It was hard … but she had never been short on will power.

Thoughts spilled onto text

‘Wallowing in the blues’ would be an understatement. The blues are washing up on all sides, swamping me..  the day’s been just suck-y. i want to run away somewhere, or maybe emulate an ostrich.

Writing’s never solved anything…but it just made me smile at something. Oh well.

There’s a tag going around. And i caught it. So here’s a list of silly answers for a list of silly questions. Or silly questions when i have no answers (or don’t want to give them ). Butttttt, you gotta do what you gotta do, for the purpose of enlightening some folks. So…

1. How do you feel after a one night stand?
I need to sit. Now!

Why, you wanna try?

You mean if i give you a swift kick in the pants for asking such questions? Let’s try, shall we..

4. Do you know when you are acting crazy?
Sure do. Wouldn’t be half as much fun otherwise.

5. Does size really matter?
Solitaires – yes. House – yes. Paycheck – yes. Surprise gifts – yes. Errm, did you say next question?

6. When the bill comes, are you still a feminist?
A resounding yes. Unless you are one of those who treat women like fluff and insist on shielding them from the hard facts of life (like a big bill). I am all for that too.

7. Why do you take so long to get ready?
I just dont have to shrug on a jacket to cover the tee, do i? If i did, i wouldn’t take long either.

8. Do you watch porn, too?
In addition to what else?

9. Will something from Tiffany’s solve everything?
It depends. If i like it, it just might.

10. Are guys as big of a mystery to you as you are to us?
Nope. Guys are all slotted, compartmentalized and done. Where’s the mystery?

What’s your name?

I had thought the ability to remember and associate names with faces is a good thing. It’s one of the things i am good at (Well, ok, not so much anymore, but i am growing old, ya’know?). And i turn this trait upside down, by saying things that make me go ‘oops’. Like i am introduced to someone at work, and i remember that i have worked with them earlier. They go “hi, i am so-and-so”. And me? I go “I know” . Ofcourse, the resultant look on their faces is priceless, but i do this so often it can’t be called rare.
Someone gimme suggestions on what else to say next time!!

A way to pass time

Given my fondness for books, its surprising really that i havent posted on this topic.

Oh wait, i think i have. a review. well, never mind.
